posted a crappy car on CL, getting crappy responses, to be expected :D
it’s a shame they sent the second text that this was “for the car”, I thought someone was just offering to give me $200 a week!!! Imagine my luck!!! :D
for those wishing to critique my crappy ad for crappy car, feel free

or if you want a strong engined car, with a list of issues, let me know for a potential oppo discount.

Please update on the best* trade offers.
*best - to be taken as, horrifically awful, how could they even, I just can’t, what no? That type of best.

trade offers can be sooooo painful. Often starting like:
potential buyer: you take trades?
me: I dunno, whatcha got?
potential buyer:I dunno, whatcha need?
me: cash please
potential buyer:how about a playstation 1, and toaster that only works on one of the slots?
me: SOLD!!!

trades are the best part of selling a car on CL.

Nice price.

fingers crossed. the next most similar car on my local CL is for $1000 and doesn’t engage into any gears. Lets hope body damage and no A/C are preferable to bad trans for $200 less.

You’d think Satan could scrounge up 800 at once. Let alone need a beater.

I imagine the plan was to STEAL the car for $200! satan is tricky like that

Talk about nerve, who does he think he is?

Still works better than most CL toaster offers...

potential buyer: “toaster was used in a failed suicide attempt, the cartoons lied. doesn’t work, still wanna trade?”

HAHAHA
There you go

Seems like the better option to me!

One of the reasons I *never* leave a phone number. Email only please, so I can *DELETED* happily. If you really don’t even have an email account, I just don’t know what to tell you...
Although for an $800 car, I suppose there could be a number of interested buyers who don’t have an email address.

I’ve tried email only before, and although I get a pile of nonsense texts, the text method seems to moves cars faster. I certainly have had this gloriously brown delight in front of my house too long already

I use my phone for work, I’m on call so I have it set to super-loud for text messages so I wake up in the middle of the night... so I protect my cell number from the masses whenever possible...

apparently TOO nice :P
I started over a month ago at $1100, little to no interest. $1000 a week later with one person stopping by to see, $900 the next week with very little interest.
$800 was apparently THE price. I had someone buy it tonight, and had two other people waiting in line to come see it if the others didn’t buy. And 5 or so others texting with questions.

Good idea. I keep thinking about this. But then I forget about it...
